Authors will join groups that promise great book reviews in exchange for payment, but then the reviews come back with positive praise but few stars. The reason for this, says Jackson-Beverly, is that many review writers don&rsquo;t actually understand how to write book reviews. Groups like the Independent Book Publishers Association are working to screen and vet potential reviewers, and Jackson-Beverly says this is a step in the right direction.
