&lt;p&gt;&lt;br /&gt;We&amp;#39;ve all seen movies or tv shows based on books that follow the story just as it was written by the author. Then, there are those movies or tv shows based on books that make major changes to characters, settings, or plot points in the adaptation process. There are typically very strategic reasons for making these changes. Natasha Gatlin, Content Development Manager for Fuzeframe, a company that options books for adaptation, explains why screenwriters and producers might make changes to a book when adapted to the screen. It&amp;#39;s important that authors understand that while storytelling for the screen has a lot of similarities with storytelling for books, there are also some major differences.&lt;/p&gt;
