Writers and content creators are in luck, says writer and psychotherapist Dr. Stacey Simmons. Streaming services especially are always looking for the next great story, and have plenty of room for new content. This is a change from the days of cable, when there was only a limited amount of channels and space. While films are underperforming, explains Dr. Simmons, streaming becomes stronger and bigger every day. She advises writers to create strong characters who are relatable, but also someone viewers may aspire to emulate. Audiences want to connect with and care about the characters on the screen.
