Besides query letters, marketing content, and other materials, a book synopsis is often a necessary part of an author&rsquo;s submission package. Elle E. Ire, author and educator genuinely enjoys writing one-page queries, which most writers find very challenging. It&rsquo;s far more difficult for her to write a book synopsis, which puts the entire book into a document that can be as short as a page or as long as six or seven pages. The length depends on what you&rsquo;re writing the synopsis for. In a query letter, you&rsquo;re not sharing an entire plot, but in a synopsis you&rsquo;re sharing a beginning, a middle, and an ending. Ire recommends reading the book <em>The Dreaded Synopsis</em> by Elizabeth Sinclair in order to understand the structure of, and the content necessary for a synopsis.
