Having a strong social media presence is a critical component of an effective author platform and book marketing campaign. Author and Apprentice University, Inc. founder Ron Brumbarger says that for authors, the social media marketing effort is never complete. It needs to be treated as an ongoing effort where you are constantly evolving or enhancing your communications. Brumbarger recommends thinking of your social platforms and author website as being in a variable state of use at all times. In order to compete and stand out, you must follow the latest digital trends, such as video or podcast integration. He recommends being present on all platforms where your target audience frequents and using these digital communications to drive back to your website. You must be easy to find, Brumbarger says.
