I wasn't aware how certain colors could make or break your cover design. I like to keep my covers simple. I don't like a lot of distractions. I feel that warm & dark backgrounds with a single picture forces the imagination to wonder. Curiosity is how I try to grab my readers. If you see a book with a single title & a warm background, I would think a person would be more curious about it than one with a long title & many bright colors.
