On a daily basis, she manages human resources, facilities, staff communications, and the overall strategic direction of the library. Prior to her current role, Moore worked for a much smaller public library where she wore even more hats on a daily basis, including collections development and programming. The amount of staff and breakdown of roles at a public library are determined by its size, she says. For Moore, one of the most important functions of her job is to be present and involved in the community. Inspired by books as a child, she loved visiting her small town library but never considered a career as a librarian. It was after she received her undergraduate degree in psychology that Moore rediscovered her love for libraries through some part-time jobs.
