To her, the biggest advantage of using supported self-publishing and not a traditional publisher is that she can maintain total control over the way her books are going to look. The downside of not having a traditional publisher is managing all promotional and marketing efforts on her own. Wasserman says marketing her work has been trial and error, but she has found an illustrator and photographer who help create many of the materials she uses in her marketing.
