Author and editor Robert Yehling talks about pitching an agent. As an author who has worked with many agents in his career, Yehling gives some insight on what works best. “Writers need to study the websites of agents and publishers. This happens all too rarely,” says Yehling. Every agent is different and the way that the submission is formatted, the way it’s received is drastically different from agent to agent. In addition, agents represent specific genres, and it’s a common thing for authors who haven’t researched their agents to send their proposals to agents who have no experience in the proposal’s genre. Listen to the clip below to learn more from an expert!
