Singapore-based independent publisher Epigram Books publishes books in two ways - through submissions from writers and through commissioning writers. The company currently publishes between fifty and sixty books a year across all genres of fiction, and select nonfiction titles related to food and the arts. To submit work for consideration, founder Edmund Wee says writers can submit their manuscript through Epigram's website, and novelists can enter their fiction work in the Epigram Books Fiction Prize contest. Epigram Books also commissions local writers or previously published authors to write about ideas that the staff develops internally.
