I am in the publishing process for my first book with xlibrus. The process is frustrating at times. My book is a memoir and a story of mother and I journey through dementia. I could not get response to get permission to use sayings and poems so had to remove them which takes away from story and my purpose of helping others through the journey. I had to take names (family) out even though they're all deceased..If there is a template letter to get permission I could use it in the future. Any ideas for getting around using family names who are deceased.

Hi. I'm Sharon. I recently sent a manuscript in to Balboa Press and got some feedback that I need permission to write about people in my memoir. I was aware of this and have changed most of the names but there are a few scenes that may be recognized by the person. I am looking for a permission letter template. Can anyone help? Thanks.

Hello. My name is Nancy Faaoso. I am a retired nurse who is trying to writ children' stories. I have written one titled "Jules and the Magic Blanket." It is a tale about a little girl who is afraid to sleep alone. In the tale she receives a blanket with fringe on the edges that will keep her safe from the ghouls and gobblins if she rubs the magic fringe. I actually wrote this story to go with a quilt I made for Jules. After her Grandma read her the story several times during the day and again at bedtime Jules started sleeping alone. SUCCESS. I have published this tale on my website and it has been quite popular. Now I would like to publish it for the public. We'll see if I can make this happen.

Hi, I am new to this website. I have already written 2 Christian books "Christian Divorce Wars" (self-help); and "Weapons for Victory" (memoir). I am writing a couple of other books that I hope to publish, however, I don't have the funds. I am not sure how this site can help me, but my publisher suggested it. Thanks, Dr. Sharon Smith-Koen

H, I am new to this website and not quite sure how to navigate, but I am writing a memoir, and it's a self-help book that I'm publishing with Balboa. I would like help with the writing of the manuscript stage. As this is the rewrite, I am finding it harder because initially I wrote in the past tense and now I need to write it in the present with spoken words in it. I suppose the help I want is to know that I'm on the right track with what I've done so far; I would be grateful for any help, please.

Hello all. My name is John A. Rose, Sr. and I am a former Police Detective. I have finished my second fiction novel, "Payback! Justice Glancing". It consists of two sections referred to as Book One and Book Two. A former Police Detective and Forensic Specialist in the late 1960's through the early 1980's struggles with revenge for the rape of his minor daughter. The local police have no leads but the protagonist's skill pay off after a two year lonely hunt. Unfortunately, evidence is compromised. What he does and the affects of his actions are the substance of this novel. Like us all, I want to sell this book beyond friends and family. Marketing is not my forte. I have it available as e-book on  Kindle, Amazon, and Nook as well as paperback at Barnes and Noble ISBN 978--1-68419-248-9. Any advice is appreciated.

I have attended to two webinars so far and feel the knowledge I have gained from the author bio was excellent. I felt I had learned so much and wrote a much better bio from the experience. The second webinar about book signing was more difficult to gain from because I live a way remotely in a small village and it is a more difficult experience to let happen although I do like the idea of selling pens at a very low cost with the book names on them.

Hello. Was just referred here. in the process of publishing my first book of poetry. I have over another 2000 pieces so I'm hoping another release will happen some day. Also working on a fantasy trilogy, a psychological thriller, a family drama, a graphic novel and a children's book. As you can see, I have a problem staying focused on one particular project at a time. Just looking for advice in multiple facets of the writing world. Would love to pick the brains of as many people as possible and hear about other author's experiences as well. Stay creative.
