Agents don’t have time to read every manuscript sent their way. There just aren’t enough hours in the day. So how do they find the next great novel or universally loved memoir? Enter the query letter. Next to your manuscript, the query letter is the single most important page you’ll write in your literary career. Every word and piece of punctuation counts, so it needs to be perfect.
Join agent Amy Levenson of Blue Heron Literary for this exclusive webinar and find out how to craft your best query letter in 300 words or less. Over the course of an hour she'll cover the following topics and more:
– Thinking before you query
– Essential elements of every query letter
– Red flags and must haves
– And much more!
Amy Levenson began her publishing career at the Sheldon Fogelman Agency in New York City, working with books by some of her favorite childhood authors and illustrators. She later returned to her hometown of Seattle, selling books for the packager becker&mayer! that focused on well-known estates and intellectual properties, including Star Wars and the Audrey Hepburn Children's Fund. She now runs her own agency, Blue Heron Literary, placing fiction and nonfiction with major and independent publishers throughout the U.S. and around the world.
CAn I get the slides from today’s presentation?
I am very much interested in this and other seminars I have signed up for. Is there a possibility that You can record the whole seminar and give us at least another day to listen to the full seminar before you erase it. I just cannot get a one time shot working for me. Nor do I get enough information on the short versions which are displayed. Could we agree on you recording the entire seminar and giving us one more day , I e 24 hours to listen to the whole thing. This will allow someone who is not available in the day to listen in the night
It was a very good webinar and helped me regarding going forward at present. With a book mostly with photos, it is difficult to send it as it is a 234,600 KB file size. Is there any way to connect with the speaker and possibly meet with her with the final draft of the book? We live about 20 miles apart.
I also emailed the webinars email address and received an automated response. Disappointing.
I registered as well and have not received any emails.
