Agents don’t have time to read every manuscript sent their way. There just aren’t enough hours in the day. So how do they find the next great novel or universally loved memoir? Enter the query letter. Next to your manuscript, the query letter is the single most important page you’ll write in your literary career. Every word and piece of punctuation counts, so it needs to be perfect.
Join agent Amy Levenson of Blue Heron Literary for this exclusive webinar and find out how to craft your best query letter in 300 words or less. Over the course of an hour she'll cover the following topics and more:
– Thinking before you query
– Essential elements of every query letter
– Red flags and must haves
– And much more!
Amy Levenson began her publishing career at the Sheldon Fogelman Agency in New York City, working with books by some of her favorite childhood authors and illustrators. She later returned to her hometown of Seattle, selling books for the packager becker&mayer! that focused on well-known estates and intellectual properties, including Star Wars and the Audrey Hepburn Children's Fund. She now runs her own agency, Blue Heron Literary, placing fiction and nonfiction with major and independent publishers throughout the U.S. and around the world.
This webinar was informative, it gave me hope and I enjoyed your well thought out presentation. It was easy for me to understand and you didn't go too fast so I could take notes. I would like your email address so I could get even more questions answered. I want to know what I could do differently to get a corporation interested in my books. I am a children's author ages 4-10. One has been published the other is about to be published. They are both by different companies but still considered self-published. Thank you, Amy Levenson, for your time.
