Shore wrote her first children&#39;s book manuscript years ago about a sticker mishap. Focused solely on getting published at the time and not on craft, she spent a year querying editors, only to receive rejections from all. This prompted her to join the Society of Children&#39;s Book Writers and Illustrators (SCBWI), a professional organization for writers and illustrators of children&#39;s literature. It was at one of the organization&#39;s conferences where Shore learned about the amazing opportunity that children&#39;s magazines offer to new writers. She began submitting children&#39;s poems, puzzles and games to several magazines and received her first acceptance from <em>Humpty Dumpty</em>.
