It began as a fairy tale inspired by her time working on a film shoot in South America. The story&rsquo;s setting and characters were later adapted to fit more in line with Jackson-Beverly&rsquo;s The Creatives Series. When she first started writing the series, Jackson-Beverly considered using the novella as a prologue, but was urged by an editor to save it for something bigger. The novella now stands on its own and even has illustrations done by a fantasy illustrator Jackson-Beverly hired.
