He received an email from Lucasfilm Publishing, inviting him to discuss a potential collaboration on a book project. Lucasfilm, the American film and television company behind the Star Wars franchise, also publishes novels, non-fiction, children&rsquo;s, and comic books. The project involved a series of books written by different authors that would create excitement leading up to the eighth film in the franchise, <em>Star Wars: The Last Jedi</em>. Liu pitched his idea for a collection of myths and tall-tales about the legendary Jedi Luke Skywalker and they accepted.
