Conducting thorough research for a book project might sometimes involve unpleasant experiences to ensure accurate writing. As disarming as the visit was, it brought about emotions that helped enhanced his writing and his process for trying to figure out how to put others in that emotional mindset. While technical mistakes aren't ideal, he finds it is a bigger failure when characters don't react properly in certain situations.
