<div class="asl-wikipage-summary">Doug Stone, co-author of &ldquo; Thanks for the Feedback,&rdquo; talks about getting feedback on your manuscript from friends while writing. He says that the most useful thing in utilizing friends to critique your writing is that they know where you are coming from. For example, if you&#39;re writing for a specific audience or person in mind, your friend will likely know that person or type of person. Additionally, a friend can better understand all that you&#39;ve gone through to write the book and can better appreciate your effort. One thing to keep in mind when receiving feedback is that different people will have different opinions. You may hear two opposing pieces of feedback. In this case, you have to go with your instinct.</div>
