Wu doesn&rsquo;t know exactly where his story ideas come from, but he does know that they usually relate to a topic or idea that he&rsquo;s currently interested in. For example, Wu was once driving through the desert and saw wind kicking up dust in the mountains ahead. At the time, he was interested in nanotechnology and found himself thinking, what if there was nanotechnology in that dust? Knowing whether or not to follow a story idea is an intuitive process for Wu.
