Some of your readers may be as young as third or fourth graders. Jo Whittemore also addresses her favorite theme in the young adult genre: celebration of individuality. She advises that every story written for middle grade readers include this theme because of the developmental stage they&amp;rsquo;re in.&lt;/p&gt;
