<div class="asl-wikipage-summary">The Internet is a starting point for biography research, according to author Debra Ann Pawlak, because it&#39;s not always accurate or reliable. She advocates old newspapers, magazines and books, because they reveal interesting backstory about the time period. The library is one of the best sources for biography writers, especially given the knowledge and support of librarians. Pawlak also advocates colleges, due to the collections that many received via donation. Pawlak likes to work in a linear fashion, starting at the beginning and documenting all pieces she compiles. She writes about everything she finds to convey personality and describe issues we grapple with today, whether it be in marriage, raising children or caring for aging parents. These themes and struggles are universal.</div>
