All writers need to think of themselves as adventure writers. Writing adventure into a story is as simple as thinking of a book as someone wanting something they can't have—something or someone is blocking it. That conflict drives the story and makes it great. Zuckerman also reminds us that to write adventure into a story, writers must have good material, which means effective research before you sit down to write.
