When author Rob Wingerter began the research process for his latest book Stones in the Stream he had a specific audience and vision in mind. He wanted to provide a panoramic view of church history that was aimed towards individuals who had a casual interest in understanding the history of the Christian faith. Rather than focusing on dates or points in time, like most history books do, Wingerter chose to focus on the individuals that impacted the history. With 2000 years to cover and over 50 people identified as potential content, he started by identifying the individuals that had the most significant impact, and they served as the cornerstones. Wingerter's end goal was to entice readers to want to learn more and to continue developing their faith.
