First, Beazley worked as a journalist, then in corporate communications and public relations. When her family relocated to Singapore, Beazley initially did some freelance writing, which inspired her to pursue a career long-term that would give her the freedom and flexibility she had become accustomed to. She took some online writing courses for screenwriting and creative writing and found a connection to the world of fiction. Inventing characters and stories was very different from the nonfiction business writing she had been doing, but her previous jobs proved to be great practice for honing her craft.
