Sometimes, Christian writers approach author, editor, and ghostwriter Kathi Macias with their work and say the idea came from God. Macias says she always reminds these writers that while God may have given them the idea, it is the writer’s ability, talents, and hard work that will get it all down on paper. Whether you get an idea directly from God or somewhere else, Macias says, you need to be expressing the idea in a unique way. You should write something that no one else could write, because they don’t have your perspective. When Macias looks at these manuscripts, she’s looking for how much heart the writer is willing to put into it.
