They will tell you what they are and are not interested in. Don&rsquo;t send them something they don&rsquo;t want.</li> <li>Focus on one main event. There needs to be one crucial moment in every short story. Wu believes this should be the ending, or the climax. The climax is really what the story is about.</li> <li>Anything that is not required is forbidden. Most short stories are 7,500 words or less.
