If you want your screenplay to stand out to these decision-makers, you need to have a great story, says author, screenwriter, and producer Brandyn Cross. He believes a writer&amp;#39;s unique voice combined with well-developed characters are what makes a story great. One thing that will result in an immediate rejection is if your work isn&amp;#39;t properly edited. Cross wants writers to remember that writing is very subjective - you won&amp;#39;t get a positive response from every person that reads your screenplay.
