Many writers have a solid idea for a book but just can't seem to get their manuscript finished. For Malaysian author Eric Teh, the key to getting to the finish line with his first book in just five weeks was staying focused on his end goal. For Teh, the mission was to establish credibility for his training and personal development business, while providing another means for spreading his messages of empowerment and personal growth. Two questions that he recommends struggling writers ask themselves are, "What are the desired results and potential rewards for my book?" and, "How will my book inspire and educate others?" Teh recommends ignoring the negative voices and self-doubt that many writers face, and focusing instead on the long-term goals. Letting the "what-ifs" creep in will only deter your progress, he says.
