What works well for one author may not work well for another, but it&#39;s helpful to learn about how experienced authors have been able to reach their goals.<br /> <br />Before he digs into writing a story, author AJ Baker finds it helpful to outline the beginning, the ending, and at least a few pivotal moments in the middle of the story. He then works to fill in the gaps in the story. While this may not offer a complete roadmap as he is writing, it gives him a great starting point.
