Networking is all about spreading your charm and likability, says Herbie J Pilato, a writer, producer, TV host, and president of Television, Ink. He had no connections when he first started out in the entertainment industry, and began creating them by being kind and courteous to the people he met. Everyone likes a nice person, believes Pilato. Part of his success in interviewing classic television stars like Elizabeth Montgomery can be attributed to him treating them like regular people. Instead of asking for a picture or autograph, he focused on making a connection with his interview subjects and getting to know them on a personal level.
