&lt;div class="asl-wikipage-summary"&gt;Memoir writing gives people a voice, and in many cases it instills confidence in those who have been disempowered in life. Linda Joy Meyers reached a point where she felt free to pursue such a project. In the process of writing a memoir, she learned that although a series of events happened, she constructs the story. As the author, you decide what is important to share and what the reader needs to know. For Meyers, memoir writing has helped her achieve and send a message of hope. She is now an award-winning author and founder of the National Association of Memoir Writers.&lt;/div&gt;
