&lt;p&gt;Author Richard Kelley discusses how solving problems is very important when writing nonfiction. &amp;ldquo;In nonfiction,&amp;rdquo; he says, &amp;ldquo;you have to give someone something of value.&amp;rdquo; It&amp;rsquo;s no secret that people want a quick fix. We&amp;rsquo;re all looking for methods to change our lives quickly and without inordinate amounts of stress. The job of the author is to take complex ideas and break them down for people. Especially in nonfiction, it&amp;rsquo;s important that you give people an answer to their problem. Richard Kelley talks about his own work and how he managed to find universal struggles, which is why he was successful.&lt;/p&gt;
