She says she reminds these authors that many memoirs are successful because of the person who wrote them &ndash; of course audiences will want to read the memoir of a famous person, like Michelle Obama or Condoleezza Rice. So, Norris Elliott asks, &ldquo;who are you, and who cares?&rdquo; She advises memoirists to let their personal story be under the points they are trying to make. Your life is not the main focus.
