Kurt Vonnegut Museum and Library founder and CEO, Julia Whitehead, believes Vonnegut&#39;s humility was one of the keys to his success as a writer. She attributes his humility to a few things: 1) The amount of time it took him to find success - <em>Slaughterhouse-Five</em> took him twenty years to write. 2) As with many writers, Vonnegut received numerous rejection letters, many of which were pretty harsh.
