Beth Hermes on Her Transition from Journalist to Business Writer to Novelist - podcast

Even as a child, Beth Hermes aspired to be an author. She took the "safe" route for her writing career and became a journalist instead, always wondering if she was creative enough to also write fiction. After the newspaper that she worked for was bought out she pursued various roles in the corporate world, doing business and publication writing for both for-profit and non-profit entities. All of these roles allowed her to interview a variety of people, showing her that everyone has their own voice and stories. This experience encouraged her to pursue fiction writing after she lost her marketing job. Hermes has now published five books in her Lightbearers fantasy series, teaches creative writing workshops, and coaches writers, far surpassing her dream of becoming a published author.
