Thinking Outside of the Box to Create a Successful Book Launch

Author Bob Morris learned the hard way that the worst time to execute a book signing event is during a hurricane. While it was obvious why no one showed up to get their signed copy of his debut book, Bahamarama, it did force him to question how an author can make their book launch event stand out. Determined to create a successful event going forward, Morris began cooking and serving conch fritters (a Bahamian favorite) at his book signings to add some fun and excitement. Now owner of the award-winning independent publishing company, Story Farm, Morris has learned over the years that the best book launch events are splashy and fun, and are easy to promote and create excitement around. He suggests considering an exclusive, ticketed event or something with a theme related to your book topic. Ultimately, your book launch event needs to be worthy of the time, effort, and money you've put into your book.
