Social media is all about conversation, and though there's no magic formula for successful engagment, there are best practices authors can adopt, says Gene Taft, owner of GT/PR. Taft reminds authors to put consumers first: what really interests them? If your book is about cooking, have a conversation on social media about a great meal or restaurant. They know you are the author and hard selling them is a turnoff. Starting converations around related topics allows you to better engage.
