Family Secrets

by Terry Gaul

About the Book

An ambitious, young man is killed while driving on a remote back road. A prostitute is killed and left in her van. A retired auto mechanic is killed and his body cut into pieces. A woman running a pyramid Ponzi scheme is killed in her own home. All these murders have one thing in common. All of the victims have had recent interactions, both positive and negative, with The New World Church of the Falls. This church is run by a so-called Reverend with a checkered past. Is he or are his followers behind this rash of murders? Or, is it vengeful enemies of the church? Detective Julie McNally risks her life to expose the culprits and reveals some well-kept, family secrets. When she goes missing, the whole town and the Chandler Falls Police Department search for her and bring the criminals to justice.

  • I once stumbled upon a similar situation in my own family, though thankfully, not involving murder! It was more about hidden financial dealings and questionable associations. Discovering those secrets created a lot of tension and required a great deal of careful, patient communication to resolve. It really made me realize how fragile trust can be and how important it is to maintain open and honest relationships within a family or community. For a lighthearted escape from such heavy themes, I've found Block Blast quite enjoyable lately.
