An Interview with Rosemary Montana, author of Carmine's Angel

Rosemary Montana has been a Human Resources professional and coach for over twenty-five years as well as an energy healer for over two decades. She is a graduate of the Master’s Program in Spiritual Psychology from the University of Santa Monica and an on-going student of Pranic Healing, an energy/healing and spiritual modality. Rosemary lives with her husband and soul-mate, Glenn, in Glendale, California.

Author Learning Center: What inspired you to write your book?

Rosemary: Many years ago, three events took place that changed the course of my life; I had a baby, a divorce and an emotional breakdown. It was a tumultuous, chaotic and very dark time of my life. When I recovered from the emotional and physical mayhem it brought, which was a couple of years, I went on a quest. I wanted to find out the answers to questions that I had been asking myself. Why did this happen? What did I do to cause it? What can I do to ensure that it would not happen again?

Tell us about your latest book and the process you used to get started.

The quest was to explore the different modalities of spiritual and metaphysical knowledge. As I traveled on this path of enlightenment, I thought of writing a book that would share this knowledge and wisdom I had learned, but in a lighthearted, entertaining and unique way. The seed was planted for Carmine’s Angel. A story that could be read on three levels; as a romance, a book about Angels, or learning about how to transform one’s life.

Carmine’s Angel is my only book so far as I didn’t realize how challenging it would be to market it. After it was self-published, I took some classes, webinars, etc., which helped. But only when I started to research and used the Author Learning Center did I truly understand what was needed and what was involved. I found that the ALC shared so much useful marketing information.

What challenges did you have with your book and how did the ALC help?

Because the book was already written and self-published when I joined the ALC, I have been using it mainly for the marketing information. I wish I had access to the ALC when I was in the process of writing the book because I wasted so much time in researching every conceivable question that came up. If I had known about the ACL at the time, I could have reduced the writing time in half and had a better story. ACL’s President, Keith Ogorek’s “Three Phases of book Marketing” Internet and Coaching six-class webinar was life changing or perhaps “career changing.” It gave me a different perspective, on how to market my book.

What advice would you give to someone who is writing a book?

You can’t do it alone. You need continual support in every area. Using the ALC gives you access to hundreds of ways to improve your writing, editing, publishing and marketing with information from nationally-known experts.
