The Role of a Publicity Director in a Traditional Publishing House


As a Publicity Director for W Publishing Group, a commercial nonfiction imprint of Thomas Nelson, Allison Carter says there isn't really a "normal" or typical day in her department. Some days she might be pitching her clients and their books to major television and radio programs, while other days she might be focused on getting review copies out to media contacts. No matter what she is working on for her authors, it always involves reaching out to garner attention for their books and to get their stories to the right audiences.
