What is a Query Letter? - article

The query letter is the letter you send to agents to tell them about your project, and it should be no more than a page. Generally, it’s a few paragraphs describing the project and then a paragraph describing you. If it’s a work of fiction, if you’ve won any awards for your writing or had any publications in magazines, you should include all of that. If it’s a nonfiction query letter, then the final paragraph should be about your background and experience and how you are the perfect person to write about your topic.
