Getting a Three-Book Deal - podcast

For a new author, getting a multi-book deal is more than a dream come true. Author Beth Albright shares with us how she landed a three-book deal with Harlequin Mira. Her inspirational story shows us what is possible for new authors and also reminds us that working with traditional publishers can be very rewarding. In landing a multi-book deal, there are many marketing opportunities to create other products that transcend the book. For Albright, the success of her Sassy Belles series shows the value of creating a strong relationship with your agent and editor. When you publish traditionally, it really is about partnership.

  • Great idea about the 3 book deal thanks God bless. HaHavina strong relationship with your agent is very important. I am writing my third book. Thanks for your information.
  • Beth, I live in Dothan and just finished my last book in a triology. Will be going to LA in July to pitch them. Like you, I hated to say good-bye to my characters. Congratulations!!!!
  • I love this woman! She is so real about how this has worked out for her. I am attached to my characters too because I know them all in real life! The most useful little blurb out of this whole thing was that she was creating a BRAND - cookbooks...etc. That's where its at. Thanks for reminding us of that (even though I'm pretty sure that was not her intention.) I picked up on that right away. CONGRATULATIONS Beth Albright! Rachael http://about.me/rachael_l_mcintosh
  • I identify with Beth Albright. I felt, as I was writing my debut novel, very attached to my characters. It was really a bonding process! I am glad to know that other author's feel that way. www.goindiebooks.com/411188
