For Charlene, the ALC Helped Her Face Her Fears and Get Published

Charlene Sponsel always had the dream of writing a book. While trying to write in her limited free time, she struggled to find motivation to keep going and get her book finished. It was when she began the editing process that she discovered the ALC and realized her new goal of getting her book published.

Here's what Charlene has to share:

"I didn't believe the ALC or the Book Launch Tool would be valuable, but now I can't imagine NOT having it."

I always wanted to write a book, but with working 50+ hours per week with three children, I could only write in my spare time. Once I finished my manuscript, I began looking for an editor. At that time, I had never considered publishing a book. But eventually it became my goal and that's when I was encouraged to join the ALC.

At first, I was reluctant and I didn't believe the ALC or the Book Launch Tool would be valuable, but now I can't imagine NOT having it. I knew I wanted to publish, but I didn't know all the steps that the process would entail. I didn't think about the fact that I'd have to market the book, too. So the expert marketing advice on the site was extremely helpful once I understood that aspect.

"You have to face your fears. The ALC helps you do that."

My advice to other writers looking to publish a book is this: Writing a book isn't really a matter of having or not having time–it's about just pushing to get it down on paper and doing your research. You have to face your fears. The ALC helps you do that.

The Author Learning Center was very helpful to me throughout the process of publishing my book, and now I will continue to use it as I actively work on a sequel to Legacy of a King.

Legacy of a King

Lili is a young girl whose father's business was decimated by the Elderman's War. Now, Lili must marry well before her father's debts destroy everything she loves. She finds a friend among the sovereignty, lessening her loneliness. Cam may be the youngest son of the king, but he is far from becoming a prince. Eventually called home by familial obligation, he discovers what he was looking for was there all along in Lili. Together, can Lili and Cam be the light that saves a nation or will the shadow of life as sovereignty leave Lili alone in the dark?
