As a writer, you may have heard the saying "write what you know." But when it comes to writing a thriller or mystery, there may be some elements of your story that you don't know anything about, such as killing a character. Author Serita Stevens shares how her background as a forensic nurse helped her and other writers kill off characters accurately. After seeing that there was a need for more information for writers, she wrote a book about death from poisons that covers everything from animals to plants to chemicals.
