Playing Parent to Your Book or Script Characters - podcast

Sara Anne Fox, author and editor, believes that the characters in a story are often times smarter than the writer. They access the subconscious parts of the writer's mind such as impressions or memories. But writer beware - your characters may want to hang around for too long and steal the scenes. It's up to the writer to be in charge where pacing and timing are concerned. Parent and control your book characters, and don't let them direct your scenes or dialogue.
