Ron Brumbarger on the Failure Institute and What Authors Can Learn from Their Own Setbacks

For the past five years, Apprentice University has sought to provide students throughout Indiana and beyond with access to education unrestricted. Author of You're Always Being Interviewed and founder Ron Brumbarger originally created the university to alleviate a talent shortage in the technology industry, but has since expanded its focus to include a diverse community of professionals and students. For more in-depth study and engagement, Brumbarger created two institutes within the university, one of which is the Failure Institute. Why focus on failure? Because where would we be if we weren't constantly learning from our failures, he says. As a self-published author, Brumbarger understands how self-doubt and thoughts of failure can consume writers. He encourages fellow authors to embrace failures and setbacks and learn from them, because doing so will only lead to growth.

  • Thank you Ron!  I see a similarity between your Failure Institute and what I'm doing, though my wording is in terms of energy 'light and dark'.  I help people face their dark with an open heart, to transform their lowest levels of Consicousness (fear, doubt etc) with Llove...my first book is to broaden the perceptions of 'love' - it is so much 'more' than what's currently defined. Many have done great work striving for the Light, the peaks, yet we also need to bring Llove (Light) to our darkest valleys; eventually finding peace there (not something to avoid) so that every part and particle of our Being has cleared all fear and doubt etc, and we are filled with Llove.
