It took Gwendolyn Rogers two and half years to reach her dream of owning her own storybook restaurant and bakery. During this time, she was told "no" by many people, with many others questioning her vision. Now a destination for celebrations and special occasions, The Cake Bake Shop is an award-winning, globally recognized establishment. Capitalizing on this success, Rogers is in the process of publishing a cookbook and opening a second location. She attributes much of her success to her relentless determination and desire to share her passion for cooking and baking with others. For Rogers, if you have a dream or passion, it's not worth pursuing unless you are willing to pour your entire soul into making it happen. Had she listened to any of the negativity, she wouldn't be where she is today. Rogers advises others to stay focused, be persistent, and if it's meant to be, it will all work out. Most importantly, she says, is to enjoy the journey.
