Writing workshops can be an invaluable tool to all writers, new or published. Classes and workshops can build confidence, combat writer's block, or serve as a means of interacting with other writers. Author Beth Hermes, teacher of a “Creative Writing Boot Camp” at FoxTale Book Shoppe in Woodstock, Georgia, designed her program to force writers to get out of their own way. She finds that many writers tend to over think their writing. Her three-hour course includes numerous writing prompts and she is always impressed with the quality of the writing that comes out of these exercises. Meant to spawn ideas and inspire, these prompts often surprise the writers themselves, rejuvenating their love for writing and motivating them to keep going.

Excellent idea! I can benefit from a structured environment guiding me through phases of my project. Thanks for sharing!
Hi Justine Johnson! I'm not sure if you're referring to the content discussed in the podcast or if you just want to participate in a writing group in general, but if it's the latter, we have an awesome opportunity coming up! It's called Book in a Year, and our inaugural group is currently underway. We'll be reopening enrollment to new members in the next few weeks, so be on the lookout for more information via email and on the ALC website very soon. Hope you can join us - it's a really fantastic program!
I would like to know how to get help
How do i get into the writers group
