One of the hardest struggles every writer faces is finding the correct place to start your novel. Here are some tips from award-winning author Brian Yansky on where to begin your story. He says that the story should start where the situation of the story starts. Start as close to the point of action as possible. It's easy to start your first draft in the wrong place, especially when you don't know exactly where the ending is. It's much easier to find the best place to start a story during revisions.
