Diane Z. Shore on Finding and Working With a Co-Author - video

As a member of the Society of Children's Book Writers and Illustrators, author Diane Z. Shore has had the opportunity to interact with other authors through her local chapter. The SCBWI is a professional organization for writers and illustrators of children's literature. She organized her own critique workshops for local chapter authors as an opportunity to get valuable feedback without having to travel long distances to the organization's conferences. It was at one of these workshops where Shore met Jessica Alexander. Sharing similar rhyming styles, she and Jessica agreed to collaborate on a book project that Shore didn't have time to write on her own.  They have now co-authored three children's books together, including This is the Dream and This is the Earth. The key to a successful collaboration, Shore says, is to value each other's opinions.
